Change to Yard Waste Collection
May 8, 2019 – Ottumwa, Iowa – The City of Ottumwa’s yard waste collection program will be changing.
Currently Bridge City Sanitation collects yard waste sacks from residents with the O/W Logo on them that residents purchase for $1.00. The City will no longer be able to obtain the bags that we have been purchasing, making this change necessary.
Currently there are still some of the O/W logo bags available, and they will be collected as long as residents have them.
As the O/W logo bag supply runs out residents will be required to purchase their own compostable bags and place a $1.00 yard waste tag on each compostable bag.
There will be no change in the way branches and limbs are collected.
