Leaves, grass clippings, garden debris and small brush are collected curbside in compostable bags with the $1 yard waste tag affixed to them. These tags can be purchased for $1.00 each at major local grocery stores, at the courtesy counters. Properly prepared light brush and tree limbs can be collected too – brush and branches under 3 inches in diameter must be cut into 36″ lengths, bundled and securely tied into bundles that weigh less than 50 lb. This service is not intended for logs or disposal of entire trees. Yard waste is collected curbside on Tuesday on the Southside, and Thursday on the Northside. Residents may use the drop off at the Landfill as well. Be sure to tarp your load. Live Christmas trees will still be collected during January. To ensure curbside collection, of yard waste be sure to call Bridge City Sanitation at 641-682-1700 before 2:30 PM on Monday for Tuesday’s collection or by 2:30 on Wednesday for Thursday’s collection. Place on the curb the night before. Yard waste may NOT be disposed of with general trash in the landfill.
